Ray Hale

I have been keeping tarantulas for over thirty years and have been a BTS CommitteeMember for 21 years. I have travelled extensively throughout the Far east including Borneo, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in search of new species of tarantula. I have written a book called “ An Introduction to the Spiders of South East Asia, A Study of the Genus Haplopelma” and have made many article contributions to the BTS Journal. I organise the BTS exhibition and have done so for over twenty years. My recent research has been into the great naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace and his hitherto unknown collecting of Arachnids in Sarawak.
