Animal welfare regulations
Please pay special attention to the following guidelines regarding proper treatment of animals:
1. Due to weather conditions, remind customers returning with animals to adhere to the housing parameters during travel. Therefore, ensure proper insulation, adequate cabin temperature, and keep them away from direct sunlight and cold until they safely reach home.
2. It is prohibited to exhibit sick, undernourished, injured, or animals with missing limbs. Exceptions are species capable of self-amputation, but only if the wound has healed.
3. The species should be exhibited in a closed, adequately ventilated box according to their needs.
4. The condition and circumstances of the animals must be continuously monitored. Molting or shedding animals should be removed from the table and placed in a stress-free environment. Partially molting lizard species are an exception. Any excrement produced must be immediately removed from the exhibited box.
5. Animals can only be removed from storage in justified cases and in the presence of the owner.
6. Species prone to aggression or cannibalism can be exhibited one per box.
7. The size of the storage should allow the animals to easily turn around. Minimum sizes are: for lizards and amphibians, 150% of body length (excluding tail); for snakes, 33% of total length; for turtles, 200% of shell length.
8. Each box containing animals must be labeled with unique tags, including the following information. A recommended template can be downloaded from here. The label must be attached to the box at the time of purchase, preferably as a sticker. (Food animals are exempt). It is not necessary to glue the label to the box; the main thing is to hand over the description to the buyer at the time of purchase.
