The green vine snake (Ahaetulla nasuta) has venom-delivering fangs positioned toward the back of its upper jaw. It therefore belongs to the group of rear-fanged snakes. Green vine snake venom generally has mild effects on humans, and bites do not usually cause severe envenomation. However, local pain or swelling may occur. These symptoms are not necessarily the result of an allergic reaction.
