Orestes mouhotii is a fascinating stick insect species. Females reach 4.5–5.5 cm in length, while males grow up to 4 cm. Both sexes have noticeably short legs and beige-brown patterns resembling tree bark.
Males have slimmer bodies and semicircular, horn-like projections on their heads. The tip of their abdomen is slightly thickened.
Adult females, on the other hand, have a stockier body shape. A distinctive widening can be seen just behind the middle of their abdomen, helping distinguish them from males.
