The green tree python (Morelia viridis) is an arboreal python species known for its striking colors and remarkable developmental color change. Although its name suggests a green snake, young individuals often look very different. Juveniles may be bright yellow or reddish-brown before they develop their characteristic green coloration. The green tree python color change is a natural part of the animal’s development. The iconic emerald-green shade usually appears later, as the snake grows and approaches adulthood.
