Gonyosoma oxycephalum, also known as the mangrove snake, is an interesting reptile of Southeast Asian tropical rainforests. Its habitats are diverse: it can be found in lowlands, foothills, mangrove swamps and riverside vegetation.
This species may occur at elevations of up to 750 meters above sea level. In its natural environment, dense vegetation plays an important role, providing shelter and safe space for movement.
Its distribution includes much of Indonesia, the Philippines, several regions of Southeast Asia, and some islands along the eastern coast of India.
