The whip scorpions (Thelyphonida) habitat is mainly found in tropical and subtropical regions. Several species occur in Southeast Asia, Central and South America, and some species can also be found in the southern United States.
These unusual arachnids prefer moist, dark places. They hide under rotting logs, in caves and among leaf litter, where they can spend the daytime in a more protected environment.
