Ferret sleep can be surprisingly deep. These playful little predators may nap for 14–18 hours a day, sometimes looking as if they have completely “switched off.”
They may sleep stretched out, with a hanging head or even an open mouth. It can look a little scary at first, but most of the time they are simply resting very deeply.
During their remaining waking hours, they make up for it all: they play, explore, investigate and burst with energy. That is part of what makes them such entertaining and special companion animals.
