Heterometrus species, commonly known as Asian forest scorpions, belong to the family Scorpionidae. These impressive arthropods are mainly found in the tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia. Their natural range includes forested areas in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, India and China.
