monitor lizard

This African reptile mainly lives in grassy woodland and open habitats, while young individuals may also climb branches and rocks.

The spiny-tailed monitor is a smaller Australian monitor lizard that uses its strong, spiny tail for climbing and defense.

The savanna monitor uses its forked tongue and Jacobson’s organ to detect chemical signals with impressive accuracy.
