The Hongslo’s dwarf cichlid (Apistogramma hongsloi) comes from South America. It lives in the slow-flowing, warm and clear streams of the Orinoco Basin. In these waters, stable conditions, good light and natural hiding places play an important role. They support calm behavior, orientation and the fish’s colorful appearance.
The males can be especially striking. During the breeding season, they often show even more intense colors, which makes this species particularly eye-catching.
